Class on Jan. 16

On this day, we continued group presentation about holiday.

The most attractive presentation of today to me was the presentaion about Gunma 群馬. The reason for this is that they seemed to present most effectively. I thought they used gesture to help their talking. I found interesting video on web about gestures in presentation. It says that good presenter avoid unnecessary gestures and use appropriate ones. It means that gesture would not helpful if presenter does not know how to use it effectively.

Class on jan. 21

On this day, I learned about Keynote for the first time.
I never heard the great presentation tool before, so I was surprised to know it. If I say most interesting function of Keynote, it will be 'Alpha'. Alpha makes it possible to erase needless background of a picture. Wow!

Class on Jan. 23

On this day, we learned how to use Keynote.
We could get the knowledge about arranging pictures, fixing word size and so on.
Of course, keynote is greater than Powerpoint. However, I have to pay for adding it to my Macbook!!

Class on Jan.28

On this day, I basically learned two things.
Firstly, I learned about presentation tools. I knew that there are some useful tools for presentation. For example, Cooliris is good and helpful  because it enables user to show all slides of presentation easily to audience. This would be great when audience ask questions about information illustrated in slides.

Secondly, I learned how do I improve my presentation. I think peer review is a effective way to enhance one's presentation. As we did on this day, students were divided to small groups and viewed slides each other, then got some feed back.

Class on Feb. 20

On this day, we learned mainly about Copyright. For uploading video to the Internet, we must be careful about it. If we upload it without permission, it will cause a lot of problem. In order to avoid the troubles, we learn that we could get for free or buy images in website such as Gettyimage or  iStockphoto. Also, for uploading video to Youtube, we could use CC, which means Creative Common license. The video uploaded on CC have free copy right.
Thank you for giving me a lot of interesting information in all classes! I appreciate that!
Have a good spring holiday with your family.

Class on Feb. 4

We began individual presentation from this day. The 4 presenter demonstrated her/his presentation. They were chosen at random or they did it on their own initiative. Although I did not present on this day, I regret that I did not do it voluntarily because the initiative act shows my confidence. In short, the person who raise her/his hands and are willing to present first can be thought as confident person by audience. For presentation, confidence always means great! It leads her/his presentation to get more attention from the audience.

On this day, I learned about iMovie. The interesting point I learned was that I could combine the movie which I took on my laptop and the movie which I downloaded on website. It is easy to finish this. I just install Flash video downloader and download movies from You Tube. Then, combine the movie with my movie by using iMovie. I thought this function would make it dramatically easy to make a good movie by myself.

Class on Feb 11.

On this day, I listened to some presentations. All of them were interesting and well-organized. I felt Sakura's presentation was fascinating because her presentation was arranged to encourage audience to get involved to it. For example, she asked audience to help her presentation. The audience stood up and came to forward. I thought this was effective to make audience get curious to presentation.

Class on Feb 13.

On this day, I have finally finished my presentation about football. One thing I learned from was is to be careful about the way to show graphs. In my presentation, I illustrated graphs to support my thesis, but I found some of them had faults in showing the data.
Look at the chart below. This was one of the chart I used in the presentation.

There was a mistake in this chart, which this chart does not begin from 0. This would make audience misunderstand that Ronaldo scored 6 times more goals than Messi. However, it was wrong because the number of goals Ronaldo scored was 37 while that of Messi was 31.
So, I think I should have arranged this chart and made it start from 0.

After presentation, we moved to iMovie. I thought this was interesting because I never used iMovie although I own my macbook. I understood the function is useful when I make movies for using presentation.
